The C&C 37 is a sailboat designed by the Canadian maritime architect George Harding Cuthbertson together with Cuthbertson & Cassian from in the early eighties. The C&C 37 is built by the American yard C&C Yachts.

Hull
Both the hull and the deck is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Interior
The interior is like most other boats made of teak.
The boat is equipped with 2 cabins, 6 berths, a galley and toilet facility.
The headroom is above average

Keel

The C&C 37 has been built with more than one type of keel.

One option is a fin keel. A boat with a fin keel is more manoeuvrable but has less directional stability than a similar boat with a long keel.

Another option is a centerboard keel. A centerboard keel is a pivoting lifting keel, allowing to sail both coastal and inland waters.

The boat can only enter major marinas as the draft is about 2.04 - 2.14 meter (6.69 - 6.99 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.


Engine

C&C 37 is typically equipped with an inboard Yanmar 3HMF diesel engine at 27.0 hp (20 kW), which gives a max speed about 5.5 knots.

The transmission is a shaft drive. A shaft drive will in the long run require less maintenence than other types of drive e.g. a sail drive.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 75.0 liters (19 US gallons, 16 imperial gallons).
