The C&C 36 aka C&C 36 Mk I is a sailboat designed by the maritime architect bureau Cuthbertson & Cassian in the late seventies. The C&C 36 is built by the American yard C&C Yachts.

Hull
Both the hull and the deck is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.

Rig
The boat equipped with a masthead rig. The advantage of a masthead rig is its simplicity and the fact that a given sail area - compared with a fractional rig - can be carried lower and thus with less heeling moment.

Keel

The C&C 36 has been built with more than one type of keel.

One option is a fin keel. The fin keel is the most common keel and provides splendid manoeuvrability. The downside is that it has less directional stability than a long keel.

Another option is a centerboard keel. A centerboard keel is a pivoting lifting keel, allowing to sail both coastal and inland waters.

The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.22 - 1.32 meter (4.00 - 4.30 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.


Engine

The boat is typically equipped with an inboard Yanmar 3QM30 diesel engine.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 75.0 liters (19 US gallons, 16 imperial gallons).
