Hull

The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. And outside the sailing season, just bottom cleaning and perhaps anti-fouling painting once a year - a few hours of work, that's all.
Some boats has a hull made of Plywood.

Rig

Rig of Buccaneer 28 anno 1984. Lock Crowther Buccaneer 28 - TWEETY After 38 Years sailing on lakes in Austria, since 2021 happy sailing the Adriatic See in Croatia. Great regatta and cruising (this season 500 nm till the Island of Vis) boat for lot of FUN.

The boat equipped with a masthead rig. The advantage of a masthead rig is its simplicity and the fact that a given sail area - compared with a fractional rig - can be carried lower and thus with less heeling moment.

Keel

The Buccaneer 28 is equipped with a daggerboard keel. A daggerboard is a lifting keel that can be lowered and raised, allowing the boat to enter shallow waters as well.
